Shop & ask for the form
At checkout, show your passport and ask for the tax-free form (退税单). The shop stamps it and attaches the receipt. Keep both.
Get customs stamp on departure
At the airport, present passport + form + unused goods to the customs desk before check-in. They stamp it. Missing this stamp = no refund.
Drop off or scan
Some networks (Global Blue, Planet) have airport drop-boxes. Others accept a photo upload via their app.
Submit to TCE
Send us the stamped forms & boarding pass by email or WeChat. We verify with the refund network and pay you in RMB.
The customs stamp on departure is the single most missed step — no stamp, no refund, no exceptions from the refund networks. Airports get busy: arrive 30 minutes earlier than usual if you're claiming.

How long until the refund lands?
Typically 3–8 weeks from customs stamp. Fast-tracked corporate accounts get 10–15 business days.
Do I need to have shopped through TCE?
No. Anyone with a valid tax-free form & customs stamp can use our refund service. We just clear the paperwork and pay you in RMB.
What if I forgot to get the customs stamp?
Unfortunately the stamp is legally required. Without it, the refund network cannot process the claim. Some airports have late-stamp options — email us with your flight details and we'll advise.
What are your fees?
A flat 8% service fee on the refund amount, capped at ¥400 per claim. No fee if the claim is denied.
Can I get the refund in a foreign currency?
Yes — we can pay to a foreign bank or crypto wallet on request. Default is RMB to your Alipay / WeChat / bank card.
Is there a minimum refund amount?
We accept claims from ¥100 net. Below that, most travellers find the paperwork not worth the small return.
